Play Airlines has a nice holiday surprise with a 30%-off sale on flights from the U.S. to various European destinations. You can jet across the Atlantic from Boston, Baltimore or New York City to perennial favorites like Berlin, London and Paris ... and, of course, Iceland.

The travel window for this sale is from June through October of this year, which means you can either plan a summer getaway or look ahead on the calendar a bit, save some money and book a trip to Iceland to take in the northern lights.

But while the travel window is fairly generous, you only have a week to book your discounted tickets. The sale ends May 27 and only applies to Play Basic fares. Most of these flights do have layovers. Also, remember to check for blackout dates, and restrictions vary by city. Keep in mind that Play Airlines is a budget carrier, so tickets only include a small personal item that must fit under the seat in front of you. Checking a bag will cost you roughly $80 each way.

Before we get to the offerings out of New York City in this deal, we want to point out that Play flies out of New York Stewart International Airport (SWF), which is in the Hudson Valley, about 90 minutes north of Manhattan. It's a smaller airport that offers a low-key alternative to the everyday chaos at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) or John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The calendar view below shows available flights in July and August from SWF to Paris. There are one-way flights available in this sale from $172. Those won't last long, so if a summer trip to the City of Light is on your mind, don't think twice.

June is also a nice time to fly from New York City to Dublin. You can score flights from SWF to Dublin for just $326 round-trip.
